Light of the World Today

Jeremiah 29: 11 and Jeremiah 1:5

"For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans for peace and well being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11 AMP "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you and approved of you. Before you were born I consecrated you.”

Jeremiah 1:5 AMP.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you and approved of you. Before you were born I consecrated you.”

Jeremiah 1:5 AMP; There are moments in life when a quiet question rises inside the heart. Why me. Why did God create me. Why did He place me in this particular family, this particular city, this particular season. Why am I here and not somewhere else. Why this path. Why this story.Jeremiah 29 verse 11 and Jeremiah 1 verse 5 answer that question with remarkable clarity. God says He knows the plans He has for you. He says He formed you intentionally. He says He approved of you before anyone else knew you existed. He says He consecrated you before you took your first breath. In other words, your existence is not accidental. Your placement is not random. Your life is not a coincidence. You are here because God wanted you here.

The God who plans before you begin:

Jeremiah 1 verse 5 shows us that God’s involvement in your life began long before your awareness of Him. He knew you before you were formed. He shaped you with purpose. He placed gifts inside you that match the assignment He has for you. He positioned you in a location that aligns with what He intends to do through you.

This means your postcode is not an accident. Your background is not an accident. Your opportunities and even your challenges are not accidents. They are part of a story God is writing with intention.

A biblical example that reveals this truth:

Consider Esther. She was a Jewish woman living in Persia, far from her ancestral home. She did not choose her location. She did not choose her circumstances. Yet God placed her exactly where she needed to be. Mordecai said to her, “Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this” (Esther chapter four verse fourteen NLT).

Her placement was purposeful. Her position was strategic. Her presence in that palace saved an entire nation.Esther teaches us that God places people in specific locations for reasons that are often larger than they realise at the time.

Why you are here?

You are here because God has a plan that requires your presence.

You are here because someone needs the grace you carry.

You are here because your voice matters in this environment.

You are here because your gifts fit the needs of this season.

You are here because God intends to reveal Himself through your life in ways that only make sense from this location. The question is not only why you are here. The question is whether you have taken time to discover the reason.

Discovering your why:

Discovery begins with stillness. It begins with asking God to show you what He sees. It begins with paying attention to the burdens that rise in your heart, the opportunities that keep appearing, the people who seem drawn to you, the strengths that feel natural and the moments where you sense God’s quiet nudge.Your why is often hidden inside the things that move you deeply.

Your why is often connected to the problems you cannot ignore.

Your why is often revealed in the places where you feel most alive when serving others.

Living with deeper understanding:

When you understand why God placed you where you are, your daily life changes.

Your conversations become intentional.

Your decisions become clearer.

Your challenges become purposeful rather than discouraging.

Your presence becomes meaningful rather than accidental.Jeremiah 29 verse 11 reminds you that God’s plans are good.

Jeremiah 1 verse 5 reminds you that God’s knowledge of you is complete.

Together they remind you that your life is not random. It is designed.

Memory Verse for Today:

“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans for peace and well being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29 verse 11 AMP

A Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for creating me with intention. Thank You for placing me exactly where I am for reasons that are woven into Your plan. Open my eyes to understand why I am here. Reveal the purpose behind my placement. Help me to recognise the people I am meant to serve and the assignments You have entrusted to me. Let my life align with Your design and let my presence bring Your light into the place You have positioned me. In Jesus name, Amen.

— Amen
