Light of the World Today
“He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.”

There are seasons in life when a person realises that something deeper than willpower is needed. You pray. You try. You promise yourself you will do better. Yet the same pattern returns. The same fear. The same anger. The same temptation. The same financial cycle. The same emotional weight. And you wonder quietly, “If Jesus has already paid for everything, why does this still feel so hard.”
This is where the ministry of deliverance becomes essential. Deliverance is not strange. It is not dramatic. It is not reserved for extreme cases. Deliverance is simply God stepping into the places where life has overwhelmed you and pulling you out of waters you cannot swim through alone. David said, “He drew me out of many waters.” That is deliverance. God lifting you out of what is too strong for you.
Jesus Himself announced His mission with these words: “He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives” (Luke 4.18 KJV). Captivity does not always look like chains. Sometimes it looks like a professional who cannot stop doubting themselves because of words spoken over them as a child. Sometimes it looks like a married couple who love each other but keep repeating the same argument because old wounds were never healed. Sometimes it looks like a student who works hard but still feels unworthy of success. Sometimes it looks like a leader who carries private battles behind public strength.
Paul warned believers not to “give place to the devil” (Ephesians 4.27 KJV). A place is not possession. It is permission. It is the small open door created by fear, bitterness, trauma, compromise, or ignorance. These doors do not remove salvation, but they create areas where the enemy can influence until they are addressed. This is why deliverance matters. It is not a denial of the cross. It is the enforcement of the cross.
A verified real world example makes this clear. Joyce Meyer has openly shared how years of childhood abuse created deep emotional patterns that followed her into adulthood even after she became a Christian. She loved God, but the wounds were still alive. She needed deliverance from the internal voices, fears, and emotional cycles that shaped her thinking. Salvation gave her a new identity. The lesson is simple. Deliverance applies redemption to the places where life has left marks. Believers can carry wounds that need God’s intervention. Freedom must be enforced, not assumed.
The solution begins with honesty. Bring the area before God without excuses. Renounce any belief or habit that contradicts Scripture. Invite the Holy Spirit to expose the roots. Seek wise counsel when needed. And stand on the authority of Christ with consistency. Deliverance is not about spectacle. It is about alignment. It is God restoring you to the freedom Jesus already paid for.
