PAINS

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Psalm 147 verse 3

A young boy once broke his arm while playing in the garden. The pain was sharp, the fear was real, and the tears came quickly. His father rushed to him, lifted him gently and carried him to the hospital. The boy could not fix the bone. He could not stop the pain. He could not understand what was happening. But he did not need to. His healing began the moment he rested in the arms of someone stronger.

Pain works the same way in our lives.
There are wounds we cannot fix.
There are losses we cannot reverse.
There are disappointments we cannot explain.
There are seasons where the hurt goes deeper than words.

But the Bible tells us something remarkable about God.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Psalm 147 verse 3.

God does not ignore pain.
He does not rush you through it.
He does not tell you to pretend it does not hurt.
Instead, He draws near to the place that aches the most.

Think of Hannah.
Her pain was so deep she could not speak, only weep.
Yet God met her in her sorrow and turned her tears into testimony.
1 Samuel 1.

Think of the woman with the issue of blood.
Twelve years of suffering.
Twelve years of shame.
Twelve years of silent pain.
But the moment she touched Jesus, “immediately her bleeding stopped.”
Mark 5 verse 29.

Think of David.
He walked through valleys of fear, betrayal and grief.
Yet he declared, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.”
Psalm 34 verse 18.

Pain is not the end of your story.
It is the place where God begins His healing work.

He meets you where you are.
He touches the wound you hide.
He restores what pain has taken.
He binds the broken pieces until strength returns.

So the word for today is this – God heals the pain you cannot explain.

Bible in a Year:
1 Samuel 14 to 16, John 10 verse 1 to 21

A Prayer for Today

Lord Jesus, I bring You the pain I have carried in silence.
Heal the wounds I cannot fix on my own.
Touch the places in my heart that only You can reach.
Restore what pain has taken from me.
Bind my brokenness and make me whole again.
Amen.

— Amen
